Hand washing is one of the most effective forms of personal hygiene in preventing infectious diseases, especially among children. Children are vulnerable to infections due to their high activity levels and lack of awareness regarding hand cleanliness. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of mothers and children about proper hand washing practices. The activity was conducted at the Pediatric Clinic of RSPAU dr. Suhardi Hardjolukito on December 20, 2025, targeting mothers and children visiting the clinic. The methods used included lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and demonstrations of the six-step handwashing technique. Educational posters and leaflets were used as media. The results showed that participants were enthusiastic during the activity and understood the educational material well. Most participants were able to practice proper handwashing techniques after the demonstration session. Health education regarding hand washing effectively improved community understanding in implementing clean and healthy living behaviors to prevent infectious diseases in children.
Putri Kusumawati PriyonoFeri Catur YulianiRizal FajriAminatul FatayatiRina Asih Budi Cahyaningrum

The consumption of ultra-processed foods (UPF) among adolescents continues to rise, driven by technological advancements and social media exposure that promote tasty yet nutritionally poor food choices. Limited food literacy among adolescents particularly regarding food classification based on processing level and the ability to read nutrition information labels is a key risk factor contributing to unhealthy eating habits in this age group. This study aimed to determine the effect of interactive nutrition education on adolescents' knowledge of real food, ultra-processed food, and nutrition information labels at SMAN 1 North Indralaya. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design was employed involving 28 Grade XI.. Educational activities were delivered through interactive lectures, an emo demo food-block sorting game, and visual media including posters, banners, food-shaped balloons, and PowerPoint slides. Knowledge was assessed using a 20-item multiple-choice questionnaire and analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results showed a significant increase in mean knowledge scores from 67.68 ± 17.87 (pre-test) to 98.21 ± 3.39 (post-test), with p = 0.000 (< 0.05). All respondents (100%) achieved a good knowledge category after the intervention, compared to only 32.1% prior to education. Interactive and participatory nutrition education proved effective in improving adolescents' food literacy and demonstrates strong potential as a key strategy for school-based nutrition programs.
Dinda Salsabilla

https://ojs.stikessaptabakti.ac.id/jsm/article/view/1096

Mortality reports serve as a crucial indicator within health information systems, forming the basis for evaluating service quality, program planning, and health-related decision-making. The quality of these reports depends heavily on the accurate completion of death certificates (Medical Certificate of Cause of Death/MCCD) and the precise coding of causes of death using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision (ICD-10). Assessments at Dr. M. Yunus Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Bengkulu City revealed inaccuracies in death certificate completion and cause-of-death coding, which could compromise mortality data quality. This community service initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of physicians and medical record staff regarding death certificate completion and ICD-10 cause-of-death coding. The project partnered with X RSUD, involving physicians and medical record personnel as participants. Implementation methods included partner coordination, problem identification, module development, pre-testing, material presentation, interactive discussions, death certificate completion simulations, ICD-10 coding practice, post-testing, evaluation, and ongoing support. Results showed improved participant knowledge, evidenced by an increase in the average score from 62.4 (pre-test) to 86.7 (post-test). Furthermore, accuracy in death certificate completion rose from 45% to 85%, while accuracy in ICD-10 cause-of-death coding improved from 48% to 82%. This activity positively impacted healthcare worker competence and supported the production of mortality reports that are more accurate, complete, and compliant with national and international standards.

Deno HarmantoAnggia Budiarti Anggia BudiartiKhodijah Khodijah

https://ojs.stikessaptabakti.ac.id/jsm/article/view/1104

Ervin RufaindahSenditya Indah MayasariPatemah Patemah

https://ojs.stikessaptabakti.ac.id/jsm/article/view/1098

Measles is a vaccine-preventable disease; however, incomplete immunization coverage among children remains a public health concern that increases the risk of disease transmission. Catch-up measles immunization is an important strategy to improve vaccination coverage and protect children with incomplete immunization status. This community service program aimed to support the implementation of catch-up measles immunization through vaccination services, health education, and parental counseling. The program was conducted on 7 April 2026 at an Independent Midwifery Practice within the Kedungkandang Public Health Center, Malang City. The implementation included coordination with the health center and midwives, online and offline participant registration, health screening, measles vaccination, and individualized counseling regarding the benefits of immunization, subsequent vaccination schedules, and the management of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI). A total of 28 toddlers received catch-up measles immunization. The service process consisted of participant registration, verification using the Family Card and Maternal and Child Health Handbook, medical history assessment, anthropometric measurements, informed consent, vaccine administration, and post-immunization evaluation. The program was successfully implemented without significant obstacles and received positive responses from parents. Integrating immunization services with individualized counseling improved parental understanding of the importance of immunization in preventing measles. This collaborative model involving higher education institutions, independent midwives, and primary healthcare facilities has the potential to improve immunization coverage and support measles elimination efforts in Indonesia.

Measles is a vaccine-preventable disease; however, incomplete immunization coverage among children remains a public health concern that increases the risk of disease transmission.
Adolescents with intellectual disabilities have higher vulnerability to sexual violence because cognitive, communication, and adaptive limitations can reduce their ability to recognize privacy, unsafe touch, and help-seeking steps. This community service activity aimed to strengthen reproductive health knowledge and self-protection skills among female adolescents with moderate intellectual disabilities at SLB Negeri 9 Jakarta. The partner was a special education school with 328 students and adequate teaching resources, but it had no structured, continuous reproductive health education program for sexual violence prevention. The activity used a student-centered approach through simple explanation, visual and audiovisual media, repetition, singing, simulation, discussion, and teacher-assisted communication. The main materials covered puberty, menstrual hygiene, private body parts, safe and unsafe touch, body ownership, refusal skills, and reporting to trusted adults. The activity was conducted on 13 May 2026 and involved observation, coordination, education delivery, video viewing, self-protection simulation, question and answer, and documentation. The results showed that the activity was contextually relevant for students with intellectual disabilities and created an initial model of disability-friendly reproductive health education. The main output was a practical education session that can be continued by teachers and health workers through periodic reinforcement.
NUR FITRI AYU PERTIWIAmelia Inayati Hassari Amelia Inayati Hassari, Andini Afshari Utami , Andini Afshari UtamiFatimah Djulhaeniar Fatimah DjulhaeniarReina Suminar Reina SuminarVina Maulina Vina MaulinaYuni Anggraini Yuni Anggraini

Adolescents in institutional care are vulnerable to reproductive health problems because they often have limited access to accurate information, psychosocial support, and family-based supervision. This community service aimed to develop and implement a reproductive health education strategy to prevent risky sexual behavior among adolescents at Harapan Remaja Orphanage, East Jakarta. The partner was an orphanage that accommodates adolescents aged 10-17 years. The activity used situational analysis, coordination with the partner, SWOT analysis, priority scoring, preparation of educational media, interactive counselling, pre-test and post-test, and post-activity follow-up planning. The main problems identified were limited knowledge of reproductive health and risky sexual behavior due to insufficient education and supervision. Priority scoring placed adolescent reproductive health knowledge as the highest priority with a score of 11, followed by risky sexual behavior with a score of 10. SWOT analysis showed an internal factor score of 2.77 and external factor score of 2.72, supporting a Strength-Opportunity strategy. The activity produced an education plan, counselling schedule, leaflet, poster, presentation material, and follow-up recommendations involving the orphanage, health workers, and local health services. This program supports adolescent-friendly reproductive health promotion in special situations and can be developed as a routine education and counselling model in institutional care settings.
NUR FITRI AYU PERTIWIAtik AnggraeniDinan Yurin Dinan YurinFira Khansa Zahrah Fira Khansa ZahrahSyifa Nur Qalbiyah Syifa Nur Qalbiyah
