Abstract

A metabolic disease with a fairly high prevalence is diabetes mellitus. This increase has encouraged the creation of nutraceutical products to support diabetes mellitus therapy. One of the nutraceuticals that can be used is butterfly pea flower drink. The purpose of this community service is to increase understanding and train the community to be able to make nutraceuticals from butterfly pea flower drinks derived from agricultural products for complementary therapy of diabetes mellitus. This community service was carried out in Dusun Patukan, Ngareanak, Kendal, Central Java. The service was carried out in 3 meetings with discussion and tutorial methods. The target of this community service is housewives as many as 30 participants. The results of this community service found that as many as 20 trainees had understood diabetes mellitus and natural ingredients that could be used to treat the disease. The results of this service also found that the community understands how to make a butterfly pea flower nutraceutical drink. As many as 10 participants were interested in continuing the manufacture of butterfly pea drink to be used in improving the community's economy.
