Improving Mental Health Knowledge in Postpartum Mothers Through Yoga

Mood disorders are often encountered in the postpartum period, one of which is postpartum depression. This condition is a mood disorder experienced by mothers within eight weeks after childbirth and can last up to a year. Symptoms include deep sadness, crying without an apparent reason, and sleep disturbances. One way to improve mental health in postpartum mothers is through yoga. This activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of postpartum mothers in managing mental health through yoga practice. Community service is conducted through one-day counseling sessions for postpartum and breastfeeding mothers, using lecture methods supported by presentation media (PPT) and videos, followed by hands-on practice. It is hoped that this increase in knowledge will positively impact the ability of postpartum and breastfeeding mothers to maintain their mental health.
