Abstract

Abstract  

    One program that can help reduce maternal mortality is providing good nutrition for postpartum mothers, because nutritional needs increase by 25% during the breastfeeding period, and postpartum mothers' abstinence from eating can affect their nutritional intake. The nutrition needed for postpartum mothers is very important because apart from helping in the formation of breast milk during the breastfeeding process, it also helps in recovery after giving birth. Many postpartum mothers still eat certain foods that should be really needed by postpartum mothers because they lack nutrition. One way to improve the health of mothers and children is to teach postpartum mothers about nutritional needs during the postpartum period. The aim is to inform TM III pregnant women about what they need to know about the postpartum period, the reasons for breastfeeding, and the nutrition that mothers need during the postpartum period. This research involved counseling for TM III pregnant women in Kandang Mas Village, Bengkulu City. This activity resulted in counseling for 15 TM III pregnant women. To increase the understanding of TM III pregnant women about the definition and goals of care during the postpartum period as a whole, as well as about the nutrition needed by mothers during the postpartum period. Conclusion: It is hoped that outreach activities can increase pregnant women's knowledge about the importance of nutrition for postpartum women.
