Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

JKB permits the responsible use of generative AI tools by authors under the following conditions:

1. AI tools may not be listed as authors, as they cannot take responsibility for the work.
2. Authors may use AI for language editing and improving readability, but not for generating data, results, interpretations, or references.
3. Any use of AI must be declared in an AI Usage Statement placed before the References, stating the tool, its version, and the purpose of use. Where no AI was used, this is stated explicitly.
4. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content.

Reviewers are prohibited from using AI tools in evaluating manuscripts or uploading any part of a manuscript to AI services, to protect confidentiality and objectivity. Editors may use AI tools only for technical checks and remain responsible for all editorial decisions.
