Peer Review Process and Editorial Policy

All manuscripts submitted to JKB undergo a double-blind peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. The process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial screening by the editor for scope, compliance with the author guidelines, and similarity check using Turnitin.
  2. Appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief for originality, significance, and methodological soundness; manuscripts that fail this stage are rejected without review.
  3. Assessment by at least two reviewers with expertise in the subject and no conflict of interest.
  4. Editorial decision by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' reports: accept, minor revision, major revision, resubmit for review, or reject. Where reviewers disagree, an additional reviewer may be invited.
  5. Revision by the authors, accompanied by a point-by-point response to reviewers, followed by re-evaluation.
  6. Copyediting, layout, proofreading by the authors, and publication.

The peer review process normally takes 2 to 10 weeks from submission to first decision. A Letter of Acceptance is issued only after the manuscript has been formally accepted. JKB does not offer fast-track publication or guarantee acceptance in exchange for payment. Each published article states its submission, revision, acceptance, and publication dates.
